We’re looking for a Transport Operator to join us on a permanent basis, working a morning shift pattern (Mon‑Fri 05:30 – 15:30) at our site in Crick.

We’re offering a salary of up to £29,000 per annum. This includes 25 days holiday (inclusive of bank holidays) with the option to buy additional days, high street discounts, a cycle‑to‑work scheme, a workplace pension and other perks.

What you’ll do on a typical day
  • Prepare work for the customer and pre‑brief drivers at the start of shift.
  • Co‑ordinate the transport operations on site to meet both customer and company expectations.
  • Liaise with line management to ensure the effective use of customer vehicles / subcontractors, minimising the cost impact to the business.
  • Daily report of customer KPIs and volume calculations.
  • Execute the customer’s plan and make changes where necessary to limit stock‑outs.
  • Ensure that all drivers are compliant with the working time directive regulations and that any accidents/incidents are logged and communicated to management and the customer in a timely manner.
  • Serve as the first line of communication for the driver workforce.
What you need to succeed at XPO
  • Essential: A good understanding of fast‑paced transport teams.
  • Essential: Good organisation skills and high attention to detail.
  • Essential: Excellent communication skills – you’ll be speaking regularly with various stakeholders.
  • Essential: Good working knowledge of UK geography.
  • Essential: Awareness of large goods vehicle and trailer combination equipment types.
  • Essential: Experience in a challenging customer‑service environment.
  • Essential: Good understanding of Microsoft packages including Excel and Outlook.
  • Desirable: Experience in transport planning is advantageous.
