Driver (30 Hours or 15 Hours per Week) A Further Education College in Northamptonshire

Salary: Pro rata to £24,487 per annum (Full-Time Equivalent)

A leading Further Education College in Northamptonshire is looking for reliable, caring and safety-conscious Drivers to join its Transport Team. This is a rewarding opportunity to support students and staff by providing safe, reliable transport while playing an important role in the college community.

No previous minibus driving experience is required. If you hold a full, clean UK driving licence with D1 entitlement and are willing to undertake training, we'd love to hear from you.

Available Opportunities 30 Hours per Week

Working a split-shift pattern:

  • Morning journeys: 6:00am to 9:00am
  • Afternoon journeys: 3:30pm to 6:30pm

In this role, you will transport students to college in the morning and home again in the afternoon.

15 Hours per Week

Working:

  • Monday to Friday, 3:30pm to 6:30pm

In this role, you will support the safe transport of students from college each afternoon.

Both opportunities are ideal if you have availability during the week, whether you're seeking part-time work, between roles, semi-retired, or looking for a position that fits around other commitments.

About the Role

As a Driver, you will:

  • Transport students and staff safely between college sites and designated destinations.
  • Ensure passengers travel safely and comfortably at all times.
  • Promote positive behaviour and ensure compliance with college policies during journeys.
  • Carry out routine vehicle checks and basic maintenance activities.
  • Report any vehicle defects, incidents or concerns promptly.
  • Maintain high standards of health, safety and customer service.
About You

We are looking for someone who:

  • Holds a full, clean UK driving licence with D1 entitlement.
  • Has experience working with young people and/or vulnerable adults.
  • Can work independently and use their own initiative.
  • Demonstrates a caring, helpful and flexible approach.
  • Has strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Is committed to safeguarding, equality and promoting the welfare of young people and vulnerable adults.
  • Understands the importance of health and safety within a transport environment.
