£29,400pa - £14.69phOur client is looking for a sharp, organised, and proactive Transport Clerk to join their logistics team and help ensure the daily operations run like clockwork. If you thrive in a dynamic environment where no two days are the same, this is the place for you.

The key responsibilities of a Transport Clerk:

As a Transport Clerk you will be responsible for day-to-day administration, ensuring drivers, vehicles, and deliveries are perfectly aligned and compliant.

Driver Brief & Debrief: Efficiently dispatch drivers with correct paperwork and accurately debrief them upon return, checking for any delivery issues or delays.
System Management: Update and maintain the Transport Management Systems (TMS) in real-time.
Customer Service: Act as a key point of contact for drivers, sub-contractors, and customers, resolving queries professionally.
Compliance & Safety: Ensure all transport operations comply with legal requirements, including driver hours (WTD) and health and safety regulations.
Paperwork & Administration: Manage delivery notes, proof of deliveries (PODs), and manifest tracking accurately.

The skills & qualities needed:

To succeed in this role, you need to be a great communicator who can stay calm under pressure

Ideally have some experience in a transport environment
Strong IT skills, particularly with MS Office (Excel, Outlook) and exposure to Transport Management Systems
Exceptional organisational skills with a keen eye for detail
A problem-solver mindset with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
Have worked nights previously
