Controller

The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA designation preferred with a minimum of 5+ years' experience in a manufacturing and/or construction setting.

As a key member of the management team, the successful candidate will provide input, feedback, and action on all matters affecting the organization's operations.

Bilingualism would be an asset for this position.

An excellent remuneration package is available for the right candidate including a group benefit plan along with a group pension plan.

General

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Month‑end reconciliations and closing procedures to prepare accurate monthly financial reporting on a timely basis.
  • Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll and general ledger activities.
  • Develop and maintain financial policies and procedures, and internal controls.
  • Solid understanding of construction accounting principles, including job costing, WIP, and revenue recognition.
  • Oversee the Job Costing for all projects and report on profitability of the jobs.
  • Analyze financial data and provide insights to support decision‑making and strategic planning.
  • Provide general IT administration of entire system.
  • Annual review engagement and working papers.

  • Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office software applications and an IT background.
  • Experience with ERP Software (Global Shop Solutions).
