Job Title: Professors (Part-Time) – Aircraft Maintenance
Department: School of Aviation and Aerospace Technology
Location: Aviation Campus – North Bay, ON
Contract Duration: By semester – as needed
As a national leader in aviation maintenance education, the School of Aviation Technology delivers Transport Canada-approved programs and is committed to developing skilled, safety-conscious, and job-ready Aircraft Maintenance Engineers (AMEs).
Canadore College is building a candidate pool of qualified aviation professionals to fill future teaching positions in the Aircraft Maintenance programs. These may include roles in:
- AME-M (Mechanical)
- AME-S (Structures)
Courses may focus on topics such as aircraft systems, engines, electronics, avionics, electrical generation and distribution, structures and repairs, or troubleshooting techniques in accordance with CAR 566 requirements.
Qualifications:
- Valid AME license (M, E, or S) in good standing
- Minimum 5 years of relevant industry experience in aircraft maintenance, avionics, or structures
- Strong knowledge of applicable Transport Canada CAR 566 standards
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Prior teaching, training, or mentoring experience
- Certification in adult education or instructional techniques (or willingness to obtain)
- Experience working with learning management systems and instructional technology
Responsibilities:
- Plan, deliver and evaluate effective learning related to the course learning outcomes and Transport Canada’s regulatory standards
- Support hands-on lab and shop learning activities in a safe, effective learning environment
- Assess student learning and provide meaningful feedback
- Contribute to curriculum development and continuous improvement
- Stay current with regulatory and industry changes impacting AME training
- Perform all responsibilities associated with the learning environment including preparation, delivery, and evaluation of theory and practical learning activities
