Status: Temporary Full-Time – Leave Replacement
Contract Duration: March 2, 2026 – May 22, 2026 (end date subject to change)
Hours Per Week: 35.00 hours
Pay Range: $26.01/hour – Payband C

The Proctor is primarily responsible for the invigilation of tests and exams for students and applicants at Canadore College. Exams and assessment tools administered include, but are not limited to college course exams, Accuplacer placement tests and MCTU Exemption Tests. The proctor will also be a valuable member of the Student Success Services team and will assist with the monitoring of the Student Success Resource Centre and help redirect students to the appropriate support when testing is not in progress.
Qualifications:
- One-year certificate or equivalent in Office Administration or related field of study
- Minimum one year of experience in a professional office environment, post-secondary experience is preferred
- Awareness and understanding of disabilities and the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) standards
- Knowledge of Assistive Technology (Kurzweil) is considered an asset
- Excellent customer service, communication and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated skills with Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, Word, Excel and Share Point
- Demonstrated time management skills and ability to work autonomously
- Must be able to reliably commute or relocate to North Bay, ON required
Responsibilities:
- Proctor tests that are offered through Student Support Services such as accommodated tests, deferred tests, mature student tests and Ministry Exemption exams
- Ensure testing takes place per Canadore and Student Success Resource Centre policies and procedures
- Ensure specific test administration requirements outlined by the test provider or vendor (e.g., Accuplacer), and all disability-related accommodations are put into place
- Ensure the setup and troubleshooting of individual tests and exams are carried out daily
- Greet students and check identification
- Ensure only approved materials are allowed in testing area
- Ensure student's testing accommodations are applied correctly
- Monitor the Student Success Resource Centre while tests are in progress
- Respond to unexpected occurrences with professionalism, tact and a calm demeanor
- Collect and store completed tests in a secure location until exams can be delivered or picked up
- Greet students who come into the Resource Centre and direct them to the appropriate supports
- Other duties as assigned
