Regional Flex Role:

Reporting to the Principal of Special Education, this itinerant position, will involve providing direct support to high needs students in all areas of exceptionality moving into the region mid-year or transitioning from one program or setting to another. School placements will be determined by Special Education Coordinators and Principals.

Valid Driver’s License and reliable vehicle required.

Qualifications:

Two-year post-secondary certificate or diploma in the social services field

Knowledge/

Skills Required:

Experience working with a variety of student exceptionalities including but not limited to: medically complex, autism, developmental disabilities and physical disabilities
Broad knowledge of a variety of support strategies including ABA(Applied Behavioural Analysis), Behaviour Management Systems,CPS (Collaborative Proactive Solutions) and Augmentative Communication
Demonstrated ability to effectively support students in transition and/or implement programming in consultation withclassroomteacher, central behavioural support team and respective therapistsi.e. speech, sensory, occupational,physiotherapy
Knowledge and respect for Indigenous teachings and culture
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as a member of a school-based team

Rate of Pay: $28.44 per hour - $33.38 per hour
