EDUCATIONAL ASSISTANT: CLASSROOM ASSISTANT/PHYSICAL CAREOur Lady of Sorrows School

Mandatory Requirements- Two-year post-secondary diploma in a relevant field such as Developmental Service Worker, Youth Worker, Early Childhood Education, or Practical Nursing (formerly RNA diploma).
- Experience working with students with multiple needs including physical needs, Autism, developmental delays, behavior, and anger management needs.
- Preference will be given to candidates with direct experience working with children with behavior exceptionalities.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment.
- Working knowledge and experience of behavior modification strategies.
- Knowledge of augmentative communication strategies.
- Experience using technology and digital tools and resources that support the remote learning environment (e.g., Google Classroom, Google Meet)
- Excellent interpersonal skills; and
- Good written and oral communication skills.
- Regular access to a reliable vehicle and a valid driver's license.
- Non-violent crisis intervention training would be an asset
- French language skills would be considered an asset
- First Aid training
Current compensation, in accordance with the applicable collective agreement.
