Teacher Deaf and Hard of Hearing

The Near North District School Board invites applications for the following permanent position for the  School Year.

Interview is required for this position

• Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing

• A valid Ontario College of Teachers Certificate
• A valid Certification of Registration from the Ontario College of Teachers
• Primary/Junior/Intermediate Qualifications
• Teaching Students who are Deaf and Hard of Hearing Qualification

• Demonstrated experience with the development, implementation and review of IEPs for deaf and hard of hearing students
• Demonstrated ability to work as a member of a multi-disciplinary team to collaborate with outside agency professionals and school team members
• Experience using technology that support accommodations for deaf and hard of hearing students
• Ability to facilitate an understanding of deaf and hard of hearing student needs amongst education staff and community partners
• Demonstrated experience in assessing and implementing expanded core curriculum goals
• Facilitate the understanding and the use of language in social and integrated settings
• Exhibit a balanced and informed attitude towards the range of communication approached used in the education of deaf learners
• A valid driver's license, reliable vehicle and willingness to travel within the Board
