The Near North District School Board invites applications for the following permanent position for the School Year.
Interview is required for this position
Position :- Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing
- A valid Ontario College of Teachers Certificate
- A valid Certification of Registration from the Ontario College of Teachers
- Primary/Junior/Intermediate Qualifications
- Teaching Students who are Deaf and Hard of Hearing Qualification
- Demonstrated experience with the development, implementation and review of IEPs for deaf and hard of hearing students
- Demonstrated ability to work as a member of a multi-disciplinary team to collaborate with outside agency professionals and school team members
- Experience using technology that support accommodations for deaf and hard of hearing students
- Ability to facilitate an understanding of deaf and hard of hearing student needs amongst education staff and community partners
- Demonstrated experience in assessing and implementing expanded core curriculum goals
- Facilitate the understanding and the use of language in social and integrated settings
- Exhibit a balanced and informed attitude towards the range of communication approached used in the education of deaf learners
- A valid driver's license, reliable vehicle and willingness to travel within the Board
