The Near North District School Board is a diverse, public educational organization in North Eastern Ontario. Our school district consists of dedicated people committed to quality education that fosters life-long learning for all, through creative and meaningful learning experiences. We employ approximately 2,300 permanent and occasional staff members. We have 33 elementary, secondary and alternative learning schools, serving approximately 6,600 elementary students and 3,000 secondary students.

We are also proud to provide students with alternative and continuing education program experiences throughout the region.

Geographically, the Near North District School Board is one of the largest public school boards in Ontario covering over 17,000 square kilometers. Serving much of the Nipissing and Parry Sound Districts, along with a portion of the Muskoka District, we are bordered by Georgian Bay to the west and the Ottawa River to the east.

The Near North District School Board is inviting applications for positions on a School Administrative Supply List. This list is open to qualified applicants interested in working day-to-day or short-term supply positions replacing permanent principals and vice principals.

• Membership, in good standing, with the Ontario College of Teachers
• Completion of Principal Qualification Program Part 1 and 2, in accordance with the Education Act and Regulations for the Province of Ontario
• Evidence of a satisfactory performance appraisal conducted within the last five (5) years
• Experience working as a school administrator (elementary and/or secondary schools)

• Knowledge of curriculum, instruction, and assessment to improve student achievement
• Exemplary interpersonal, communication and administrative skills
• Breadth and depth of leadership ability in a variety of contexts
• An ability to work effectively within a diverse school community
• Effective leadership when advocating for students with diverse needs
• An ability to apply a depth of knowledge of related policies and procedures
• Personal leadership resources in action across all domains of school leadership

Rate of pay: $79.50 hourly

As a condition of employment, a current original criminal reference check with vulnerable check is required .
