We now have an opening for a EHS Coordinator
. In this role, you will lead, coordinate, and support Safety, Health, Environmental, Quality, and Continuous Improvement/Lean initiatives within the facility. You will ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, foster a strong culture of continuous improvement, and provide hands‑on guidance to develop and sustain robust SHEQ programs and Lean practices.

What you will be doing:Continuous Improvement / Lean (CIL)
- Develop, implement, maintain, and enhance Lean and Continuous Improvement processes.
- Conduct current‑state assessments and design future‑state workflows to identify optimization opportunities.
- Establish performance metrics, monitor progress, and report results.
- Track non‑conformances and lead corrective actions.
- Document improvements using Change Management/MOC processes.
- Lead Lean workshops, 5S audits, Kaizen events, and coaching sessions.
- Write and update procedures resulting from Lean initiatives.
- Promote and sustain a Lean culture throughout the facility.
- Maintain and improve environmental documentation, work instructions, and policies.
- Conduct or support environmental training programs.
- Investigate environmental incidents, hazards, and near misses; prepare required reporting.
- Track environmental metrics and lead corrective/preventive actions.
- Schedule, conduct, and document internal environmental audits.
- Participate in external audits and management reviews.
- Collaborate with other coordinators on audit preparation and follow‑up.
- Maintain and update health and safety documentation, plans, and procedures.
- Investigate and document incidents, near misses, and hazards.
- Manage safety records and analyze data for trends and improvements.
- Oversee legally required documentation (e.g., SDS).
- Coordinate mandatory H&S training (forklifts, cranes, WHMIS, etc.).
- Conduct inspections and support corrective actions.
- Schedule H&S meetings, prepare agendas, minutes, and action lists.
- Support the Return‑to‑Work (RTW) program.
- Prepare for internal/external audits and management reviews.
- Maintain and improve quality documentation, testing instructions, and policies.
- Conduct or support quality training.
- Monitor quality performance and report trends.
- Track non‑conformances and lead corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with DSI, CSA, and ISO requirements.
- Conduct internal audits and assist in preparation for external audits.
- Maintain and coordinate test equipment calibration programs.
- Minimum 8–10 years of experience in continuous improvement, environmental sustainability, health and safety, Lean, and/or quality in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of Lean concepts and CI tools;
Lean Green Belt required
. - Experience with investigations, audits, and root cause analyses.
- Understanding of environmental, health, and safety legislation and requirements.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational, prioritization, and time‑management capabilities.
- Ability to work independently and effectively across all organizational levels.
- Sound judgment aligned with policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Proficiency in documentation, reporting, and audit preparation.
- Internal Auditor certification is an asset.
- Post‑secondary education in Environmental Studies, Occupational Health & Safety, or a related discipline; additional CI/Lean or SHEQ training is an asset.
- Adhere to Sandvik's Environmental, Health & Safety policies.
- Attend related training sessions and follow applicable safety procedures, including use of all mandatory PPE when visiting Sandvik or customer facilities.
