GENERAL PURPOSE OF THIS JOB
We are seeking a  Senior Structural / Civil Engineer  to provides safe, "Best For Project" solutions for complex projects while ensuring regulatory compliance across all structural and civil engineering deliverables. The role includes multidisciplinary collaboration, checking and stamping the work of EITs, participation in peer reviews, and the ongoing development of technical expertise.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
HEALTH AND SAFETY

Work in compliance with all Cementation Health and Safety rules and regulations.

Identify health and safety hazards or infractions and report them to the Health and Safety Department.

Ensure all applicable safety codes and regulations are met through appropriate design and use of technology.

Act as a safety champion by promoting safe behaviours and integrating safety into all designs produced by the group.

GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Lead and deliver structural / civil designs for mining construction projects from concept through construction.

Develop engineering solutions that meet regulatory requirements, safety standards, and client operational needs.

Perform and review engineering calculations, equipment selection, and system layouts.

Conduct and participate in technical and drawing design reviews.

Provide technical direction, mentorship, and review of work completed by Engineers‑in‑Training.

Support project execution through procurement, vendor evaluation, fabrication, and construction phases.

Work closely with project management, operations, and multidisciplinary teams to deliver practical, constructible, and cost‑effective engineering solutions.

Supported proposal preparation and technical scope development.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

Occasional travel to project sites to support construction activities.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree in structural / civil engineering.

Registered Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in Canada.

10+ years of structural / civil engineering experience in mining, heavy industrial, or similar environments.

Strong knowledge of structural / civil systems, with experience in building design, foundations, concrete, and steel structures.

Proven ability to lead technical work and mentor junior engineers.
