We are currently seeking a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join a dynamic engineering environment working on large-scale infrastructure and resource-based projects.
About the Role
You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on projects across Canada and internationally, supporting initiatives in mining, hydropower, and water infrastructure.
This role offers a mix of technical design, field involvement, and leadership, with occasional travel required.
Key Responsibilities
Lead geotechnical components of projects (scope, budget, schedule)
Plan, oversee, and interpret site investigations and laboratory testing
Perform and review analyses (slope stability, settlement, bearing capacity, liquefaction)
Design foundations, retaining structures, slopes, and ground improvement solutions
Prepare and review technical reports, calculations, and recommendations
Identify geotechnical risks and develop mitigation strategies
Support construction through site visits, reviews, and technical guidance
Provide mentorship to junior engineers and contribute to team development
Participate in client interactions and proposal support
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Geological Engineering (Master’s in Geotechnical Engineering is an asset)
Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation in Canada
Minimum 7+ years of relevant experience in geotechnical engineering
Strong background in geotechnical design and project delivery
Experience with :
Site investigations and reporting
Foundation design and analysis
Earthworks, dams, or embankments
Tailings or water management systems
Construction monitoring and project coordination
Strong communication skills and ability to work in a collaborative environment
