Virtual Construction Coordinator (VCC)

Responsible for implementing BIM and utilizing VDC technologies to enhance projects at Hunzinger Construction in Brookfield, WI. The VCC is part of the Construction Technical Services Team and reports directly to the Vice President of Construction Technical Services.

Key responsibilities include collaborating with estimating, preconstruction, and project management teams, communicating with owners, architects, and engineers, and maintaining a high level of project quality control and client satisfaction.

This position requires on‑site office and construction site work and is not a remote role. The successful candidate must reside in Southeast Wisconsin.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Develop BIM and VDC strategies for clients and manage implementation across multiple projects.
  • Assist in preparing comprehensive BIM Guidelines and Coordination Front End Specifications.
  • Develop BIM Project Execution Plans during the construction phase.
  • Provide oversight of design and construction teams to ensure client BIM Guidelines are properly addressed.
  • Prepare an overall BIM Coordination Schedule for coordination meetings and milestones.
  • Coordinate the initial BIM Coordination Kickoff Meeting for the project team and run BIM Coordination Meetings onsite or remotely.
  • Coordinate all 2D & 3D models from architects, engineers, and other consultants; keep models current, organized, converted, and distributed to all trade partners.
  • Create and maintain a clean, current Federated Model comprising the latest models from all stakeholders.
  • Setup and run all clash tests, analyze & organize clashes, create clash reports, and distribute to coordination team for review.
  • Create, update, and maintain 2D overlay drawings and plots for coordination sign‑offs as applicable.
  • Organize and maintain the project BIM folder on local drives and external file share sites.
  • Keep subcontractors on schedule and aware of deadlines while providing technical expertise and guidance as needed.
  • Create, update, and maintain a log of coordination issues and meeting notes; distribute weekly to the project team.
  • Oversee creation of the final as-built model delivered to the owner at project completion.
  • Provide quantity takeoffs and assist in verifying original estimate quantities for cost reports.
  • Perform quantity survey, quantity review, and system input for labor costing.
  • Assist in developing 4D modeling schedules.
  • Assist in site logistics and create graphics, simulations, or animations in 2D, 3D, and 4D as requested.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or closely related field;
    Associate’s Degree in a related field encouraged.
  • Project management experience managing the BIM/VDC process in the AEC industry.
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of technology platforms and terminology, standards, and practices in BIM/VDC (details listed below).
Minimum Required Technology Skills
  • Autodesk Construction Cloud, Revit, Navisworks Manage, AutoCAD, and ReCap;
    Assemble Systems;
    Trimble Sketch Up;
    Bluebeam Revu; and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Desirable Technology Skills
  • Procore;
    Autodesk Civil 3D;
    Trimble Field Link and Real Works;
    Microsoft Project and/or Primavera P6;
    Microsoft PowerBI.
