Location:

You will work as part of the Mining team at EXP, contributing to the design and layout of mechanical components for mining projects.

• Serve as a working lead for a multidisciplinary design team.
• Produce mechanical layouts and plant designs using Micro Station V8, E3D, AutoCAD, and other 2‑D/3‑D tools.
• Extract drawings from 3‑D models.
• Conduct research and analysis, recommend designs.
• Troubleshoot, analyze, evaluate, propose, implement, and document engineering solutions.
• Understand and consider client requirements and project mission.
• Read, understand, and comment on manufacturer equipment drawings and specifications.
• Check 3‑D models and drawings developed by others.
• Manage budgets, schedules, and deliverables related to the layout.
• Provide mentorship and supervision to the design team.
• Support systems and tools including the Bentley Suite (Open Plant Modeler, Open Plant P&, etc.).
• Provide regular feedback to the Overall Mechanical Engineering Lead on progress with deliverables.
• Engage and coordinate design with client representatives.
• Participate and assist in proposal preparations.
• Become familiar with EXP standards.

• Technical college graduate with experience in mining or a similar industry.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in heavy industrial design and layout, preferably in an EPCM environment.
• Design experience in consulting or Mineral Mining projects preferred.
• Strong commitment to safety and quality.
• Experience with Bentley, Open Plant, or 3‑D Micro Station.
• Knowledge of project delivery, interfaces, and interdependencies across disciplines.
• Organized, self‑motivated, proactive, detail‑oriented, with good communication skills.
• Sound understanding of design, engineering codes, and technical standards.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project).
• AutoCAD and Micro Station experience required.
• Extensive knowledge of engineering standards, codes, guidelines, and systems coordination.
• Knowledge of mining‑related processes is a definite asset.

Salary range: $60,000 – $70,000, based on skill set, experience, certifications, and work location.
