Boart Longyear is hiring for the role of CNC Machine Operator based in North Bay, Ontario. In this high-volume production environment, Boart Longyear is committed to high quality, safety, environmental and continuous improvement practices. Applicants should be able to demonstrate shared values in this area.

Working in a high-volume production environment, you will:

• Read and Interpret blueprints
• Setup CNC lathes according to the dimensions and tolerances specified by the blueprint
• Perform first-off inspection after setup, and perform quality checks routinely throughout a production run in order to maintain a high quality part using various measurement tools (Vernier caliper, gauges, shadow graph, visual)
• Operate CNC lathes performing various machining processes such as: drilling, turning, threading
• Maintain incoming/outgoing material from the machining cell
• Enter daily production into MES (manufacturing execution system)
• Perform pre-operational safety checks on your equipment and within your work area equipment and maintain work area including housekeeping, data reporting, tool changes
• Uses pins, calipers, micrometers, other measuring tools and equipment as required
• Participate in Continuous Improvement measures
• Regard Safety as a high priority
• Perform other tasks as required and assigned
