Registered Practical Nurse in Psychiatry

Join North Bay Regional Health Centre as a Registered Practical Nurse in the Acute Inpatient Psychiatry Unit. Focus on delivering patient-centered care for those in acute psychiatric distress.
This position requires mental health experience and a commitment to patient safety. You will engage in assessing, planning, and implementing nursing interventions that prioritize immediate and future patient needs. Work closely with a multidisciplinary team to foster effective communication and excellent care delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support high-intensity care for patients in psychiatric crisis

• Perform mental health status evaluations and risk assessments

• Collaborate effectively within a multi-disciplinary team

• Provide health teaching and motivation for patient involvement

• Maintain safety standards in line with organizational policies
Requirements:

• Valid Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario

• Current BLS Certificate, recently obtained

• Experience in mental health patient care settings

• Knowledge of relevant mental health legislation

• Advanced level English/French language skills preferred
