Become a Registered Practical Nurse with North Bay Regional Health Centre, specializing in mental health services.
Your role will be vital in supporting those experiencing responsible mental illnesses through skilled nursing care. In this clinical position, you will utilize your knowledge of psychiatric pathology and recovery‑oriented practices to assist patients in their rehabilitation journeys. Your ability to work with limited supervision and within a healthcare team is essential. Effective communication and interpersonal skills will enhance patient interactions and overall care.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct thorough patient assessments and interviews
- Administer medications while ensuring patient safety
- Facilitate psychosocial rehabilitation initiatives
- Support compliance with health acts and ethical standards
- Contribute to a culture of safety within the organization
- Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario required
- Experience specifically in Mental Health Nursing
- Basic Life Support and Medication Administration certification
- Advanced communication skills in English and French are a plus
- Familiarity with relevant health regulations required
