In this vital role, the Registered Practical Nurse will provide high-intensity services within the acute psychiatric unit, focusing on individuals facing severe mental health challenges. Your essential skills will include knowledge of psychotropic medications and mental health assessment, ensuring that patients receive comprehensive support and recovery planning.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide direct nursing care in acute psychiatric settings
• Conduct mental health and risk assessments thoroughly
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals
• Educate patients and families on health management
• Maintain documentation of patient care
Requirements:
• Current Certificate of Registration from the College of Nurses of Ontario
• Recent Basic Life Support (BLS) Certificate
• Mental health experience in an active care environment
• Knowledge of addictions and withdrawal management
• Bilingual proficiency in English/French required
