Provide essential nursing care as a Registered Practical Nurse in the Acute Inpatient Psychiatry Unit at North Bay Regional Health Centre. Help individuals facing psychiatric distress regain stability and hope.
This opportunity involves working with adults who require immediate psychiatric intervention. The role calls for strong critical thinking skills, effective communication, and the ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative treatment environment. You will enhance patient recovery through both pharmacological support and education.
Key Responsibilities:
• Administer nursing care to psychiatric patients
• Execute comprehensive mental health and risk assessments
• Work closely with psychologists, social workers, and therapists
• Develop patient-focused care plans and discharge strategies
• Facilitate health teaching for groups and individuals
Requirements:
• Registered with the College of Nurses of Ontario
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certificate from the last year
• Experience in mental health nursing required
• Familiarity with mental illness and health regulations
• French language proficiency is an asset
