Acute Inpatient Psychiatry Nurse Position

The Acute Inpatient Psychiatry Unit is seeking a dedicated nurse responsible for delivering high-intensity psychiatric services.
Your role will include conducting thorough mental health assessments and providing pharmacological treatment while collaborating with a multi-disciplinary team. You will work with patients in acute distress, focusing on symptom management and effective discharge planning.
Key Responsibilities:
• Perform comprehensive mental health assessments and evaluations
• Administer medication and manage symptoms in distressed patients
• Collaborate with doctors and therapists in patient care
• Engage effectively in health teaching with individuals and groups
• Ensure compliance with health regulations and safety protocols
Requirements:
• Current College of Nurses of Ontario registration
• Certification in Basic Life Support within the last year
• Experience in mental health settings is essential
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Bilingualism in English and French is required
Support individuals in psychiatric crisis with expert nursing care in a collaborative environment.
