Step into a rewarding career as a Registered Practical Nurse in our Ontario long-term care home, where you'll provide quality nursing services and support residents daily. Key tasks include administering medications and nurturing resident wellbeing.
This role demands adherence to the standards set by the College of Nurses of Ontario while reporting to the Director of Care. You will conduct assessments, maintain detailed documentation of resident care, serve meals, and assist with personal hygiene requirements. Additional responsibilities include leading nursing aides and ensuring safety protocols are rigorously followed.
Key Responsibilities:
• Prepare and record medication for residents
• Conduct assessments and document resident care
• Assist residents with meals and daily activities
• Supervise nursing staff in absence of management
• Attend in-services for ongoing professional development
Requirements:
• Ontario Secondary School Diploma mandatory
• Must be registered with the Ontario College of Nurses
• Background in nursing within a long-term care environment
• Excellent communication and technical skills
• Willingness to provide a Vulnerable Sector Check
