In the Mental Health and the Law Service, you'll use your nursing qualifications and experience to work with patients involved in the legal system. This role emphasizes knowledge of psychiatric disorders, forensic nursing principles, and applicable legislation, while fostering collaborative relationships with multidisciplinary teams. Your expertise will help improve patient outcomes and facilitate their return to the community.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct mental health evaluations and deliver compliant treatment
• Work with diverse teams for effective patient support
• Lead and implement health teaching and advocacy efforts
• Participate in crisis intervention and leadership roles
• Uphold safety standards in patient interactions
Requirements:
• Valid Ontario nursing registration
• At least 2-3 years' experience in relevant mental health environments
• Understanding of forensic nursing and legislation
• Current driver’s license for travel within the area
• Proven commitment to ongoing education and quality improvement
