As part of the Acute Inpatient Psychiatry Unit, you will engage with patients experiencing severe psychiatric symptoms. Your work involves thorough assessments, medication management, and working alongside multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care. Your skills in motivational interviewing and crisis de-escalation will be invaluable in this fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Perform mental health assessments and risk evaluations
• Collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team
• Monitor patient medication and treatment progress
• Educate patients about their health and recovery plans
• Assist in discharge planning with supportive resources
Requirements:
• Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario
• Recent Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
• Expertise in mental health treatment and symptom management
• Knowledge of biopsychosocial factors in mental illness
• Ability to support a culture of safety in healthcare
