North Bay Psychiatric Registered Nurse Role

Provide compassionate care in the role of Registered Nurse within the Acute Inpatient Psychiatry Unit at North Bay Regional Health Centre. Help patients recover from acute psychiatric symptoms.

This role emphasizes high-intensity care for individuals facing serious mental health challenges. As a Registered Nurse, you must hold a current certification with the College of Nurses of Ontario and possess relevant mental health experience. Excellent interpersonal and de-escalation skills are crucial for facilitating positive outcomes in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assess and manage patients' mental health needs

• Implement effective discharge plans with patients

• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary health care team

• Educate patients and families about health and wellness

• Conduct pharmacological treatments and monitor symptoms

Requirements:

• Valid Certificate of Registration from Ontario

• 1-2 years of recent mental health experience

• Current Basic Life Support certification

• Knowledge of applicable mental health regulations

• Bilingualism in English and French preferred
