Join the Complex Continuing Care & Seniors Mental Health department as a Registered Practical Nurse. You will provide patient care in diverse medical settings while applying your skills in therapeutic communication and health teaching. Essential qualifications include a valid Certificate of Registration from the College of Nurses of Ontario, Basic Life Support certification, and experience in medication administration and catheterization.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide high-quality nursing care to patients in medical settings
• Demonstrate effective therapeutic communication with patients
• Administer medications and perform catheterization as necessary
• Participate in health teaching for individuals and groups
• Collaborate with the health team on patient assessments and care
Requirements:
• Current College of Nurses registration required
• Medical clinical experience in dementia care
• Basic Life Support certification within the last year
• Experience with Gentle Persuasive Approach is preferred
• Bilingual in English and French is required
