Make a difference at North Bay Regional Health Centre as a Registered Practical Nurse specializing in acute psychiatry. Engage with patients in crisis, employing effective nursing strategies and mental health assessments.
The position entails certification from the College of Nurses of Ontario and experience in mental health. You'll work closely with a multi-disciplinary team to create effective treatment plans while ensuring patient safety and well-being through your extensive nursing skills.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct risk and mental health status assessments
• Deliver patient care in high-intensity psychiatric situations
• Engage in individualized health teaching for patients
• Collaborate with team members in a multi-disciplinary setting
• Utilize de-escalation strategies effectively
Requirements:
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certificate required
• Demonstrated mental health care experience necessary
• Familiarity with psychotropic medications and relevant health legislation
• Bilingual English/French preferred for communication
• Ability to meet physical demands for nursing care
