Sports Information & Game Day Coordinator
Full‑Time Support Staff
Reporting to the Director, Athletics, the Sports Information & Game Day Coordinator is responsible for the planning, coordination, and execution of all athletic communications and varsity event operations. This role supports the promotion of Lakers Athletics through digital content, media relations, and game‑day experiences that engage the campus and broader community.
The Coordinator will lead student staff and collaborate with coaches, student‑athletes, and university departments to ensure a consistent and professional presentation of Nipissing’s athletics programs.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee all logistical aspects of home games in collaboration with the Manager, Intercollegiate Sports, including event set‑up and takedown.
- Supervise student staff (e.g., announcers, scorekeepers, broadcasting, stats, and setup crew) to ensure smooth game execution and an engaging fan experience.
- Capture and report game statistics, scores, and highlights using digital platforms in compliance with OUA and USPORTS standards.
- Perform traditional game‑day sports information duties: produce promotional materials, manage photography and video content, update live scores, support live streaming, and prepare post‑game summaries and recaps.
- Assist with day‑to‑day operations of the Robert J. Surtees Athletics Centre and Education Centre Field, and coordinate with associated staff.
- Adapt to varying days and hours, including evenings and weekends, as outlined in Article 22.02 of the collective agreement.
- Two‑year college diploma in Sports Marketing, Communications, Recreation Management, or a related field.
- Two to three years of experience in sports information, event coordination, or digital content creation.
The target hiring range is $28.70 to $30.62 per hour, with the potential to progress to a maximum rate of $36.34 per hour based on market conditions, internal equity, and candidate qualifications.
