Position: Rail Traffic Controller - Spare Role
Location: Englehart

Be part of Ontario Northland's dynamic team as a Spare Rail Traffic Controller located in Englehart. This position is crucial for ensuring safe, timely train movement and operational compliance across our services.

As a Spare Rail Traffic Controller, you will report to the Manager of Rail Traffic Control and be guaranteed 80 hours bi-weekly.

Your role will include maintaining communication with crews, adhering to safety regulations, and managing operational records. Successful candidates will need a strong work ethic and an ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure the safe movement of trains and on-track equipment

• Maintain compliance with Canadian Rail Operating Rules

• Document and report incidents accurately

• Facilitate communications across various rail departments

• Uphold health and safety standards consistently

Requirements:

• Secondary School Diploma or GED equivalent

• Qualified or willing to be qualified in rail rules

• Strong organizational and communication skills

• Computer skills in Windows operating systems

• Flexibility for shift work, including weekends
