Contract Duration: September 8, 2026 - December 18, 2026

Hours Per Week: Up to 24 hours/week

Pay Rate: $19.22/hour + 6% vacation pay

The Tool Crib Clerk is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the Aviation Campus tool crib, ensuring students, faculty, and staff have timely access to tools, equipment, parts, and consumable materials required for laboratory and aircraft maintenance training activities. The incumbent maintains accurate inventory records, supports receiving and procurement activities, and contributes to a safe, organized, and efficient learning environment.

Qualifications
  • Secondary school diploma required; postsecondary education in aviation, trades, logistics, or a related field is considered an asset.
  • Experience in inventory control, warehousing, tool crib operations, retail parts, or a related environment is preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Outlook.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to lift and move tools, equipment, and materials safely.
  • Knowledge of aviation tools or aircraft maintenance practices is considered an asset.
  • In-person, on-campus position. Must be able to reliably commute to the Aviation Campus in North Bay, ON
Responsibilities
  • Issue and receive tools, equipment, parts, and consumable materials following established sign-out and return procedures.
  • Inspect returned tools for cleanliness, damage, and serviceability, reporting deficiencies as required.
  • Ensure tools and equipment are organized, labelled, and stored appropriately.
  • Prepare tool kits and materials for laboratory classes as required.
  • Monitor stock levels and advise when consumables, parts, or tools require replenishment.
  • Assist with receiving deliveries by verifying quantities and contents against packing slips.
  • Organize and store incoming inventory.
  • Provide receiving documentation to the Aviation Technologist for processing.
  • Provide courteous and professional service to students, faculty, and staff.
  • Assist users in locating the appropriate tools, parts, and materials for laboratory activities.
  • Promote accountability by ensuring all issued tools are properly tracked and returned.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and secure tool crib.
  • Remove damaged or unserviceable tools from circulation and report repair or replacement requirements.
  • Follow College health and safety policies and safe work practices.
  • Report hazards, damaged equipment, or safety concerns promptly.
  • Issue parts and tools to students and employees, ensuring proper checkout and return procedures
  • Verify the condition of tools when returned and report any damage or needed repairs
  • Monitor inventory levels and enter supplies requests for re-order
  • Support material receipts/deliveries
  • Provide associated paperwork to the Technologist
  • Maintain up-to-date and accurate inventory of all tools, supplies and equipment in the tool crib
  • Conduct regular inventory checks and ensure proper documentation of all items
  • As applicable, update and maintain computerized tool management systems, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of data
  • Provide excellent support to students and employees, answering inquiries about parts and tool availability and assisting with finding the right parts/tools for specific jobs
  • Ensure tools and equipment meet company safety standards
  • Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work environment in the tool crib
  • Other duties as assigned
