We are seeking Paraeducators for our REACH Program!
Assabet Valley Collaborative (AVC) is an educational service agency in the Metrowest/Central Massachusetts region. Our services include school programs, wraparound services, transportation services, professional development, cooperative purchasing and consulting. AVC’s REACH is a program designed to meet the diverse physical, medical, and learning needs of students ages 3-18.

Job Responsibilities Relationships And Community
- Establish and maintain positive and nurturing rapport with students.
- Be flexible and adapt to the evolving needs of students and the school environment.
- Be aware of student accommodation needs.
- Respect and appreciate multiple differences, including learning, communication, behavioral, cultural, and familial differences.
- Participate in routine community‑building activities.
- Support and collaborate with colleagues.
- Assist and reinforce elements that support an effective teaching and learning environment.
- Understand the similarities and differences among students’ cognitive, communicative, physical, social, and emotional needs, and the factors that influence them.
- Assist with instruction and activities for groups and individuals as assigned.
- Assist with day‑to‑day operation of the school environment by monitoring, supervising, and helping students throughout program space.
- Collect and submit data regarding goals and outcomes related to students’ IEPs, Transition Plans, and other plans as assigned.
- Assist with instructional service delivery as indicated.
- Accompany students to field trips.
- Assist and reinforce elements that support a safe, healthy learning environment.
- Redirect behaviors and offer positive reinforcements as needed.
- Collect and record performance data on students under the direction of licensed professionals.
- Meet physical requirements necessary to intervene in a crisis or emergency.
- Assist ambulatory children to young adults and lift them for hygiene changes and positioning equipment.
- Engage in physical movements such as bending, twisting, pushing, pulling, climbing, squatting, crawling, and kneeling as needed.
- Experience working in schools, nonprofits, or human service organizations.
- Flexibility, versatility, and follow‑through.
- Teamwork skills, including conflict navigation.
- Ability to seek and provide clear, direct feedback.
- Bilingual or multilingual skills are a plus.
- Ability to thrive within a team while working independently.
- Valid driver’s license, safe driving record, and preferred ability to transport students in AVC vehicles.
- Physical ability to execute job responsibilities that include transferring, lifting, or shifting students or equipment.
- Competitive hourly pay range ($22.00/hr to $37.00/hr).
- Paid leave: 10 sick days and 3 personal days per year.
- $1,200 tuition reimbursement.
- $1,500 stipend (only for paras) usable flexibly.
- School‑year position with additional summer compensation.
- 75% health insurance premiums covered (High Deductible Health Plan).
- Health Savings Account with 50% deductible contribution.
- Participation in Massachusetts state pension system.
