Valley

CAST is the Arts & Culture arm of Open Sky Community Services. It was founded in 2002 out of a desire for an inclusive community that provides real opportunities to the people with disabilities the organization serves. Valley

CAST is located at the Whitin Mill, which houses administrative offices, an art gallery, a performance center, a community plaza, artisan studios and resident apartments, all renovated with respect for historic preservation and utilizing green technology. The mission is to foster a creative community in the Blackstone Valley that is inclusive and supportive of all of its members with and without disabilities.

Led by a Volunteer Board, Valley

CAST coordinates and facilitates cultural activities that expand community support for the arts. Whether an art exhibition, concert, play or historic tour, events that bring people together and inspire new connections are always taking place.

Open Sky is seeking a Valley

CAST Coordinator who will participate in the development and successful execution of Valley

CAST online and in‑person community engagement strategies, assist in the development and execution of all programming and events, and support a robust and engaging social media presence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute a strong and engaging social media presence
  • Participate in the innovative development and successful execution of inclusive Valley

    CAST online and in‑person community engagement strategies
  • Partner with the Open Sky Community Membership Team to replicate the inclusive Valley

    CAST Model in other geographic regions of Open Sky
  • Assist with all communication tracking and follow‑up correspondence with programs, staff, and the community at‑large through email, printed mail, social media, and phone
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent, required
  • Valid Driver’s License and acceptable driving record, required
  • Previous experience in or demonstrated knowledge of non‑profit agencies, required
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and organizational skills, required
  • Display proficiency in Microsoft applications, graphic design, social media coordination and event management, required
