This Autism Intervention Practitioner opportunity in Southwark offers the chance to join a highly respected specialist school where every day is centred around helping autistic young people develop communication, independence and confidence through personalised, evidence-informed support.

Working within small class sizes, the successful Autism Intervention Practitioner will become part of a multidisciplinary team, supporting pupils with Autism and associated communication needs through structured interventions, sensory regulation strategies and consistent routines. Staff work collaboratively with Speech & Language Therapists, Occupational Therapists and experienced SEND Teachers to ensure every pupil receives an education tailored to their individual profile.

Rather than simply supporting learning, you'll play an active role in helping pupils develop the skills needed to communicate effectively, regulate emotions and become increasingly independent both inside and outside the classroom. Full Academic Year | £500 £ 550 per week What the school can offer an Autism Intervention Practitioner:
Specialist training in Autism education, communication and sensory regulation Experience alongside Speech & Language Therapists and Occupational Therapists Exposure to PECS, visual timetables, AAC devices and structured communication strategies Small class sizes with high staff-to-pupil ratios Weekly CPD focused on Autism practice and therapeutic education Excellent preparation for careers in Psychology, Therapy and Specialist Teaching A genuinely collaborative environment where graduate development is prioritised Your responsibilities will include:
Supporting pupils during structured classroom learning Delivering communication-based interventions alongside teaching staff Promoting emotional regulation through personalised sensory strategies Encouraging social interaction and independence throughout the school day Supporting pupils during transitions and unstructured periods Recording progress against personalised learning and EHCP targets The successful Autism Intervention Practitioner will:
