The Opportunities

Our schools are looking for support staff to work with pupils with a wide range of needs, including:

Autism / ASD

ADHD

SEMH

Complex needs

Communication difficulties

Non-verbal pupils

Behaviour that challenges

EHCP requirements

Social, emotional and mental health needs

Additional learning needs

You could be working as a 1:1 Learning Support Assistant, supporting a small group, or working alongside the class teacher within a specialist SEN provision.

Your responsibilities may include:

Providing consistent 1:1 or small-group support.

Helping pupils access the curriculum.

Supporting learning and classroom activities.

Encouraging independence and life skills.

Supporting emotional regulation and positive behaviour.

Developing positive relationships with pupils.

Helping pupils overcome barriers to learning.

Working alongside teachers, SENCOs and wider pastoral teams.

Providing a calm, safe and inclusive environment.

Who We're Looking For

SEN Teaching Assistants | Learning Support Assistants | 1:1 Support Assistants | Behaviour Support Workers | Youth Workers | Residential Support Workers | Care Workers | Graduates | Experienced Childcare Professionals

School experience is beneficial, but transferable experience can be equally valuable.

We're particularly interested in candidates who can demonstrate:

Patience and empathy.

Resilience and consistency.

Excellent communication skills.

A genuine passion for supporting young people.

The ability to build trusting relationships.

Confidence managing challenging situations.

A professional approach to safeguarding.

A Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant qualification is desirable but not essential.

Team Teach experience is advantageous, and additional training can be discussed where appropriate.
