Head of SHEQ

Location: North Yorkshire

A well-established and leading manufacturing company based in North Yorkshire is looking for a Head of SHEQ to join the business. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a great organisation and is site based with occasional  travel and offers attractive salary & benefits.

The successful SHEQ Manager will be responsible for:

Lead, manage, motivate, and develop the SHEQ team across the business

Develop, implement, and maintain SHEQ policies, procedures, and management systems in line with legislation, ISO standards, and best practice

Lead the SHEQ strategy across manufacturing facilities and customer construction sites

Promote a strong culture of safety, environmental responsibility, and quality assurance

Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and risk assessments to identify hazards and improvement opportunities

Ensure compliance with all Health & Safety, Environmental, Quality, contractual, and statutory requirements

Manage internal and external audits for ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001

Investigate incidents, accidents, and non-conformances, ensuring robust root cause analysis and corrective actions

What We’re Looking For:

Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a senior SHEQ role within the construction or engineering sector

Strong working knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and CDM regulations

Strong leadership skills with the ability to influence at all levels

Highly analytical with excellent attention to detail

Proactive approach to risk management and problem-solving

Degree or diploma in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Management, Quality Management, or a related discipline

NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent professional certification (highly desirable)
