OverviewThis is a full‑time, commissioned career opportunity that can be hybrid based out of our Atlantic County, NJ locations.
Work with customers and prospective customers to assist them in identifying and securing a mortgage loan that is appropriate for their individual financial circumstances and is designed to help them achieve their financial goals, including home ownership. Requires to act on internal leads but to also cultivate external lead sources to generate origination of mortgage loans. A significant amount of time will be spent building relationships and soliciting first mortgages with realtors, builders, accountants, lawyers, financial advisors and other referral sources to obtain mortgage loan applications.
Responsibilities- Develops and expands referral sources to solicit first mortgages and maintain a continual stream of origination volume. Maintains regular contact with Realtors in their offices and on site at open house events. Meets with builders on job sites to discuss lending options related to clients they have building homes. Regularly seeks opportunities to meet with developers. Participates in building and trade shows.
Participates in mixers related to real estate where relationships can continue to build and new ones can be forged. Maintains regular contact and meets with centers of influence such as attorneys, accountants, lawyers and financial advisors. - Collects and analyzes applicant financial information at a branch location to assess qualification for a loan. Interviews applicants and collects necessary financial information, including income, assets, investments, debt, credit history, prior bankruptcies, judgments, liens, and characteristics of property. Identifies customer needs and recommends products that best meet those needs after advising on risks and benefits.
- Engages in persuasive sales activities to encourage potential customers to do business with the Company and cross-promotion of other services.
- Performs work related to the loans originated, obtaining and analyzing relevant data; follows current loans for compliance; follows up with customers via telephone and email; completes paperwork; prepares materials; attends company meetings; ensures regulatory compliance; communicates with the customer throughout the process.
- Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent. - Experience:
4+ years in residential mortgage lending. - Experience:
Incumbents will have established referral sources outside of branch referrals and provide a continual stream of loan originations. - Experience:
Proven ability to develop and maintain a significant amount of referral sources from contacts and relationships outside the organization; other sources could be repeat customers or referrals from current clients.
This role may perform other job duties as assigned by the manager. Each employee of the Organization, regardless of position, is accountable for reading, understanding and acting on the contents of all Company-assigned and/or job related Compliance Programs, regulations and policies and procedures, as well as ensure that all Compliance Training assignments are completed by established due dates. This includes but is not limited to, understanding and identifying compliance risks impacting their department(s), ensuring compliance with applicable laws or regulations, and escalating compliance risks to the appropriate level of management.
