The Operations & Facilities Management Department (OFMD) at WashU Medicine provides essential services that sustain the medical campus’ mission of excellence in patient care, research, and education. Job Description

Primary

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Develop, review, and execute comprehensive commissioning plans, procedures, and checklists for mechanical, electrical, and control systems. Prepare commissioning checklists and associated documents.
  • Oversee and conduct on-site inspections, pre-functional checks, functional performance testing (FPT), and integrated systems testing.
  • Identify, diagnose, and resolve complex system deficiencies and performance issues in collaboration with design engineers, contractors, and vendors.
  • Serve as the primary technical liaison, coordinating activities between design, construction, operations teams, and third-party vendors to ensure a seamless commissioning process.
  • Ensure all commissioning activities and documentation adhere to industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain meticulous documentation of all test results, observations, and resolutions; prepare detailed commissioning reports for key stakeholders.
  • Provide technical support and comprehensive training to facility operations and maintenance personnel for newly commissioned systems.
  • Promote and ensure compliance with all on-site safety protocols and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Technical Knowledge:

  • Strong understanding of critical facility infrastructure.
