Dr. Gomez‑Lopez’s research is primarily focused on the immunological pathways that lead to obstetrical disorders, with the goals of improving the understanding of disease mechanisms and developing methods for early diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of pregnancy complications, with an emphasis on preterm birth. The successful candidate will also participate in translational efforts in this area. Applicants with a strong background in molecular biology, single‑cell technologies, and in using rodent models are encouraged to apply.
Job Description PrimaryDuties & Responsibilities
- Collaborate with PI on design, conduct, and reporting of research projects.
- Implement animal‑based research objectives, ensuring compliance with all legal, regulatory, and protocol guidelines.
- Collect and log laboratory results, research outcomes, and/or survey data. Evaluate and perform data analysis using graphs, charts, or tables to highlight key points of the research results in accordance with protocols.
- Assist with grant preparation and reporting. May submit grant proposals in rare circumstances with approval of the PI, Department Head, and Dean.
- Prepare and submit papers on research findings.
- Develop hypotheses to be tested and design methods for testing.
- Comply with established safety procedures and maintain required documentation on laboratory and specimen conditions.
- Manage research projects in collaboration with other institutions and investigators.
- Laboratory environment with potential exposure to biological, chemical, and radioactive hazards.
- Must be physically able to wear protective equipment and provide standard care to research animals.
Education: PhD or terminal degree, or combination of education and experience may substitute for minimum education.

Salary Range$63,400.00 – $ annually. Salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates will be determined by qualifications, performance, equity, market rates, and department budget.
