Position SummaryThe Integrated Biomedical Imaging Laboratory is seeking outstanding candidates interested in developing novel hybrid noninvasive imaging systems for studying the pregnant and nonpregnant uterus’s electrical maturation and mechanical changes. The goal of the lab is to develop tools to monitor pregnancy and labor progression and assess the effectiveness of treatment strategies to manage labor and prevent preterm birth. The lab uses innovative and cutting‑edge experimentation and relies heavily on signal and image processing, inverse computation, engineering methods, bioinformatics, and biomechanical systems engineering.
The successful applicant will utilize clinical research studies using MRI and electrophysiological tools, signal and imaging processing, and statistical analysis. Applicants with a strong engineering and data analysis background in these areas and interests in women’s health at various levels of experience are encouraged to apply.
Provides critically complex research and experimentation for departments, allowing the advancement of scientific analysis and discovery. Serves as a subject matter expert offering support, training, and guidance relative to the discipline/area. May participate and/or present on the research developed or the established work of those within the department.
Job Description PrimaryDuties & Responsibilities
Assists research studies with implementation of existing algorithms and computer software for analyzing omics‑based data sets [high‑throughput, massively parallel genomic/proteomic/clinical]; data management and analysis solutions that assist in storage, investigation and dissemination of large data sets. 70%.
Works with research team to develop new algorithms to support studies. 20%.
Assists with reporting of methods, data and results. 10%.
Job Location/Working Conditions
Works in a laboratory environment with potential exposure to biological and chemical hazards.
Must be physically able to wear protective equipment and to provide standard care to research animals.
Normal office environment.
