Job Summary And Qualifications

The HCA Health

ONE Air Life EMS team is a premier pre‑hospital medical transport program located in Denver, Colorado. The team operates a fleet of ground ambulances to care for and transport ill or injured patients throughout the Rocky Mountain region. Air Life includes a dedicated communication center that responds to and manages requests for medical transport across all modes of service.

Responsibilities
  • Receive calls from the communications center or Northglenn Ambulance dispatch, respond to emergency calls, read maps, and drive an ambulance to the emergency site using the most expeditious routes while observing traffic regulations.
  • Assist the paramedic in determining patient status, establishing priority for emergency care, and rendering appropriate care based on certification level.
  • Observe patients en route and administer care as needed or as directed by medical control.
  • Identify diagnostic signs that require communication with the receiving facility and assist in removing patients from the ambulance.
  • Report verbally and in writing observations about patient care at the scene and en route to the facility, aiding emergency staff as required.
  • Assist in lifting, carrying, and transporting patients.
  • Reassure patients and bystanders and avoid mishandling patients in undue haste.
  • Replace supplies, check all equipment for readiness, maintain the ambulance in operable condition, keep it clean and orderly, and decontaminate the interior as needed.
  • Determine vehicle readiness by checking oil, gas, and tire pressure.
  • Maintain familiarity with all equipment.
  • Compile reports in compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations when handling deceased patients.
Required Qualifications
  • Current EMS Certification from the State of Colorado.
  • Minimum age of 19 at the time of hire.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Insurable driving record as per company policy.
  • Criminal background meeting company standards.
  • Current Colorado State EMT Certification.
  • Current National Registry Certification.
  • IV certification.
  • Current CPR certification.
