Planer Supervisor

Ashton Lewis‑Sullivan Lumber Inc., located in Northport, AL, is a well‑established sawmill known for producing high‑quality lumber. We are looking for a dedicated and reliable Planermill Supervisor to lead our Planermill team, ensuring a work injury/incident‑free environment while achieving the mill’s objectives in safety, reliability, quality, and costs.

• Lead, manage and develop the Planermill team.
• Develop and maintain the Planermill safety program, ensuring employee ownership in safety and accountability for safe work practices.
• Manage environmental activities associated with the Planermill department.
• Initiate, implement, and maintain a quality control program based on best practices of the lumber industry.
• Ensure that all lumber is manufactured to the highest industry standards.
• Supervise and be responsible for all Planermill personnel.
• Coordinate with Office and Sales Manager for lumber pickups.
• Ensure that all Planermill personnel are properly trained and equipped to accomplish their jobs safely, timely, and efficiently.
• Perform employee reviews and put development plans in place for Planermill team members.

• Minimum of 5 years in leadership in a sawmill manufacturing environment.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Experience driving safety excellence in a manufacturing environment.
• Computer proficiency in MS Office applications and ability to learn various PC‑based applications in a mill.
• Ability to work in a manufacturing environment.
• Willingness and ability to work a flexible work schedule.
• Strong problem solving, organizational and leadership skills.
