We have a full-time temporary opportunity (37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday) for a Laboratory Technician to join our Winnington site in Northwich where we produce sodium bicarbonate. This job will initially be for 3 months however there may be an opportunity for it to be extended.

Being able to drive and holding a full UK license with no bans or convictions is essential for this role.

This role is offered on a contract basis via our recruitment partner Morson, you will be paid weekly after submission of an approved timesheet.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collecting samples from sample points located within chemical process plant areas.
  • Conducting analysis and interpretation of results.
  • Undertaking analysis and investigations on non-routine samples.
  • Managing the laboratory calibration schedule and stocks of laboratory consumables including reagents.
  • Providing support and guidance to the Process Operations team.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
  • Ideally you will have a background in chemical plant analysis and laboratory work.
  • You are likely to have an A Level in Chemistry and/or hold or be working towards NVQ level III Laboratory and Associated Technical Activities.
  • You must be computer literate to enable data input, interpretation and report writing.
  • Technical problem-solving capability.
  • Previous experience in a GMP environment would be advantageous.
  • A flexible team player.
  • Full UK driving licence for manual vehicles
