Make a difference as a Electrical Utility Estimator

As a Full-Time Electrical Utility Estimator at Nooter Construction, you will play a crucial role in developing detailed cost estimates for multiple concurrent electrical projects. Your expertise will be vital as you analyze project specifications, drawings, and various documentation to prepare accurate and comprehensive estimates. You ll collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and supply chain and procurement teams, ensuring a cohesive approach to each project.

Additionally, you ll prepare and present cost reports, summaries, and analyses to project teams and senior management, providing insights that drive decision-making and enhance project outcomes. Requirements for this Electrical Utility Estimator job

To be successful as a Full-Time Electrical Utility Estimator at Nooter Construction, a range of skills and knowledge is essential. You should possess a solid understanding of estimating databases such as Accubid, NECA, Con Est, and others. The ability to perform conceptualized estimates during schematic design, design development, and construction document phases is critical.

Excellent analytical, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills will enable you to work effectively with project managers and engineers. Proficiency in reading blueprints is necessary, along with strong computer skills, especially in the MS Office Suite. You should be adaptable and eager to learn new software as needed.

A minimum of an Associate s degree in Engineering (Contracting Engineer) or a relevant combination of technical training and experience is required. Candidates should also have 2-5 years of estimating experience in the electrical construction industry and be prepared for 10-20% local travel to project sites, ensuring hands-on involvement.

Travel and Physical Requirements for the position are:

  • 10-20% local travel may be require to project sites.
  • Walk, sit, stand, climb, crawl, kneel, lift, and operate a vehicle
  • Reach for, handle, and manipulate objects. Use hands and arms to lift and carry objects weighing up to 20 pounds
  • Climb ladders and stairs
  • Work at a computer station for extended periods
  • Ability to focus clearly on objects (either naturally or with corrected vision) at varying distances
  • Ability to work in internal and external atmospheric conditions, including high and low ambient temperatures, elevated work areas, and noise levels above 85 dbl
