Job Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg night shift position requiring an active VA or compact RN license and AHA BLS certification.
Responsibilities

• Work on the Medical Surgical unit in a hospital setting

• Patient population consists of general medical and surgical cases

• Night shift schedule: 3x12 hour shifts, 18:30-07:00

• General orientation starts on Sundays and includes online CBLs

• No local candidates accepted; must reside more than 100 miles from the hospital’s service area

• Participation in nursing student support and clinical education is expected alongside clinical care duties

• 16 hours of nonbillable orientation are required

• Hospital may cancel or call off one shift biweekly due to census changes

• Holiday and weekend coverage may be required based on unit needs

• General orientation is provided, including initial online training
Requirements

• Active VA or compact RN license at time of consideration

• Current AHA BLS certification required

• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification preferred

• Two professional references from supervisors within the past 2 years
