Dental Hygienist Nowalk - Temporary

Overview

Temporary role from March 2026 - July 2026. Provides prescribed dental hygiene/periodontal services to patients in a caring and professional manner.

• Educate patients in the proper methods of oral hygiene and plaque control.
• Provide oral prophylaxis, scaling and root planing, sealants, dental and periodontal charting and topical preventive treatments.
• Meet productivity targets quarterly.
• Provide radiographic services and review patient medical history prior to the start of each visit.
• Maintain accurate documentation of dental hygiene services and periodontal charting by completion of the electronic dental record at the end of each visit.
• Maintain the treatment area, equipment, instruments, and supplies in proper working order daily; strictly follow safety and infection control standards.
• Share responsibility for logbook documentation and tasks including autoclave maintenance with the dental assistant at a fixed site.
• Ensure all electronic charting, documentation, and telephone encounters comply with agency standards.

• Participate in the assessment of dental services and quality assurance programs.
• Maintain regular communication with the dental director, staff dentists, and office manager.

• RDH degree from an accredited dental hygiene school required.
• Licensure - State of Connecticut dental hygiene license.
• Minimum of 1 year clinical experience preferred.
• Interest in providing care to a diverse patient population.
• Commitment to preventive dental care.
• For Mobile Dental program: reliable access to an automobile and a valid driver’s license or reliable transportation to assigned work areas.
• Written and oral bilingual fluency in the language spoken by our patient population (e.g., English/Spanish) strongly preferred.
• Current American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer and AED (CPR/FPR/AED) or American Heart Association BLS/AED for Healthcare Providers certification required.
