Summary:
To provide medical care to patients, assist them to recover from acute illnesses and minimize the effects of chronic illnesses.

Responsibilities- Assesses the patient's condition by obtaining a complete medical history, obtaining physical data, and reviewing the patient's medical record.
- Orders appropriate laboratory and diagnostic procedures required to evaluate the illness.
- Interprets and integrates data to determine the appropriate diagnosis and therapeutic treatment plan.
- Consults with other physicians and medical specialists to assure patient and physician satisfaction, in accordance with the Practice's policies and medical standards.
- Records all symptoms, objective findings, assessment, treatment plan, and other information in the patient’s chart and reviews the typed dictation.
- Instructs the patient and family regarding diagnosis, testing, treatment, expected outcomes, and future prevention.
- Evaluates the outcome of the treatment plan by reviewing diagnostic results and coordinating follow-up as needed to ensure timely, cost-effective medical care.
- Provides medical guidance to and supports the development of the Practice's physicians, assistants, nursing staff, medical support staff, and rotating interns as it relates to medical care of the patient.
- Ensures the satisfaction of internal and external customers.
- Promotes the Practice's fiscal viability and supports achievement of financial goals.
- Performs organizational responsibilities to achieve the Practice's and WCMG missions through a process of total quality improvement.
- Fulfills all compliance responsibilities related to the position.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Education:
PROFPOST-GRAD DEGREE - Minimum Experience:
three years - Desired:
Prior experience as a staff physician.
- Manual:
Some manual skills/motor coordination and finger dexterity - Occupational:
Some occupational risk - Physical Effort:
Medium to heavy effort; may exert up to 35 lbs. of force - Physical Environment:
Some exposure to dirt, odors, noise, human waste, etc.
