Overview

Teacher - JROTC Instructor-NSI  SY) at Norwalk Public Schools. JROTC Instructor (NSI) is the commissioned officer employed by the school who teaches JROTC cadets and organizes/chaperones field trips, ceremonies, and other activities. The JROTC collaborates with Brien McMahon High School faculty and support staff.

• Teach JROTC cadets in a comprehensive high school setting.
• Organize and chaperone field trips, ceremonies, and other JROTC activities.
• Collaborate with faculty and support staff at Brien McMahon High School.

• Retired military officer with a bachelor’s degree, or who is certified by the Military to serve in the JROTC program, or is eligible for certification. Eligibility for the Connecticut State Department of Education teaching certification is a plus—some experience as an instructor.
• Proven ability to interact with adolescents and work cooperatively with other high school staff.
• Ability to teach and motivate students.
• The JROTC is a commissioned officer.

• Previous teaching experience.
• Fluency in Spanish is an asset.
