Part-Time Secondary Level Special Education Teacher

• Middle School Reading Intervention (8:15 AM - 10:15 AM)
  • Deliver intensive, specially designed instruction focused on reading intervention methods for a small caseload of two middle school students.
• High School Math Focus (10:40 AM - 12:40 PM)
  • Provide individualized instruction specializing in high school mathematics content and related academic IEP goals for one student.
• Develop and implement function‑based academic and behavioral strategies, utilizing IEP Direct and assessment data to continuously adjust and monitor all student Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
• Ensure comprehensive IEP management by conducting formal/informal assessments, interpreting diagnostic results, and facilitating crucial collaboration with parents and multidisciplinary staff.

• Bachelor’s Degree
• Valid Connecticut Special Education Teacher Certification (#165) (Required)
• Orton‑Gillingham (OG) certification or Reading Specialist Endorsement (Preferred for Middle School position)
• Experience in teaching High School Mathematics within a special education or resource setting (Preferred for High School position)
