Position

Summary

All Teaching Faculty members shall: prepare and teach college‑approved courses in accordance with approved course descriptions and class schedules, including developing syllabi and reading lists and keeping each course taught complete and up to date; respond to and work with multiple constituencies, including students, peers (faculty and staff), and external agencies (business, community, educational, etc.); perform divisional departmental responsibilities in the selection of texts and related teaching resources;

and other teaching and related duties as outlined on the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

Example of

Job Duties
  • Teach thirty (30) credit hours per academic year under the direction of the Dean, Chair of the department or other administrator.
  • Teach a range of courses in the discipline area of study.
  • Evaluate and assess student learning; provide student support and academic advising; plan and execute program‑related events.
  • Assist with program reviews; develop curriculum and periodically evaluate teaching materials.
  • Attend workshops and conferences to maintain currency in the profession and field.
  • Schedule the program courses; hire and evaluate faculty; establish and cultivate partnerships with local organizations and employers; arrange and supervise internships; assess and improve the program.
  • Carry out essential duties of attendance and participation at convocation and commencement ceremonies; serve on assigned committees and task forces.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Respiratory Care or an appropriately related academic discipline.
  • Connecticut Respiratory Care License.
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist.
  • Four (4) or more years of recent (within the past ten years) clinical care experience.
  • Two (2) or more years of teaching experience in Respiratory Care.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Respiratory Care.
  • Experience working with clinical partners and maintaining relationships.
  • Experience supervising faculty and staff.
  • Experience developing, monitoring, and evaluating clinical education and curricula.
  • Experience supporting students and staff in off‑site clinical placements.
  • Experience using technology to enhance the learning environment, e.g., Blackboard, online instruction or other modalities/software.
Starting Salary

Minimum Salary; $75,362 approximate annual. Salary will be based on the selected candidate’s qualifications such as education and job‑related experience, and internal equity.
