Medical Practice Patient Representative (Clerical Office Assistant) - NHMP Norwalk Neurology - Norwalk, CT

Title: Medical Practice Patient Representative (Clerical Office Assistant)
Employment type: Full Time, 40 hours per week, Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 4:00pm
Shift: 8 hour shifts

  • Greets and welcomes patients upon arrival and communicates pleasantly and effectively.
  • Ensures accuracy of patient information, including demographics and insurance.
  • Answers phones, routes calls, takes messages, and assures accurate communication verbally and via the EMR system.
  • Registers, verifies, and schedules patient appointments, tests, and referrals.
  • Schedules and reschedules appointments according to office protocols.
  • Monitors applications and manages worklists as applicable.
  • Collects co‑pays and reconciles funds for deposit.
  • Obtains and coordinates record retrieval for new and established patients.
  • Performs intake and processing of medical records and other documentation where applicable.
  • Fulfills all compliance responsibilities related to the position.
  • Maintains and models the organization’s values.
  • Demonstrates regular, dependable, and predictable attendance.
  • Performs other duties as required.
  • High School Diploma/GED or equivalent.
  • 1 year customer‑related experience required.
  • Preferred: 1+ years of healthcare experience.
  • Ability to travel between practices as needed.

Salary Range: $18.13 - $34.50 hourly (pay per experience).
